Antiqua Immersa is preparing to open Antiqua Immersa: Roma, a walk-through history exhibition at Palau Martorell in Barcelona, on 30 October 2026. Visitors talk to Julius Caesar, Cleopatra and Vercingetorix, see artefacts and replicas, and can add a seated virtual reality piece to their visit.
The VR journey
The VR piece, Julius Caesar: Triumph & Destiny, is a first-person journey through Alesia, the Rubicon, Rome and Alexandria. Visitors wear a headset while seated in a motion chair. The exhibition's own site invites visitors to put on a headset, settle into a motion chair and step into Julius Caesar's world.
Ticketing
Virtual reality is sold only as part of a combined ticket; it is not available on its own. As listed on 26 October 2026, ahead of the scheduled opening:
- Exhibition-only ticket, without VR: from €17.90
- Combined exhibition and VR ticket: from €23.90
What comes next
Georgi Georgiev, whose team has worked on the project for a year and a half, describes Roma as the first of a planned series of immersive exhibitions that combine physical spaces and virtual experiences.
