CinemaLeap Inc. (株式会社CinemaLeap), a Tokyo-based XR production company founded in 2019, opened IMMERSIVE JOURNEY on the third floor of the Asobuild complex directly connected to Yokohama Station on 1 December 2024, and launched it with Horizon of Khufu, a free-roam virtual reality expedition produced by the French studio Excurio.

The IMMERSIVE JOURNEY facility has approximately 1,000 square metres of floor space and a stated maximum simultaneous capacity of 75 participants. These are venue specifications, not a measured audience or separately established capacity for this title. Visitors wear headsets and walk through the experience; the main journey takes about 45 minutes, with roughly 15 further minutes for fitting and briefing. Tickets are sold for groups of one to four, with larger parties split across two groups; the stated minimum age is eight.

A deployment-specific report of the November 2024 media preview identifies HTC VIVE Focus 3 headsets. In an interview with CinemaLeap's representative, MoguVR describes headset cameras reading wall and floor markers and Wi-Fi supporting position coordination. Visitors follow the virtual route without handheld controllers.

The content places visitors in Egypt 4,500 years ago: they look out over Giza and Cairo from the summit of the pyramid, sail the Nile aboard the solar barque, explore the interior of the pyramid and arrive at a sacred ceremony. The Japanese-language version was narrated by voice actors Fairouz Ai, as the Egyptologist guide Mona, and Miyuki Sawashiro as the cat goddess Bastet.

CinemaLeap describes Horizon of Khufu as having drawn more than a million visitors across over ten cities worldwide before this Japanese premiere. That figure belongs to Excurio's touring production as a whole and is not an attendance figure for the Yokohama venue; no attendance figure specific to this deployment has been confirmed.

Excurio's own venue directory continues to list Asobuild in Yokohama as operated by Cinema Leap and showing Horizon of Khufu, indicating the deployment is still running.
