Cutplant Solutions is leading SMARTCUT.v2, a project that aims to create virtual environments for training forestry machine operators in equipment use and maintenance. The planned virtual reality training involves the MASSIVE laboratory at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD).

The project began in December 2025 and has an investment of approximately €1.4 million. Alongside MASSIVE (UTAD), participating academic institutions include INESC TEC, the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto and the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco.
