Delaware North Parks and Resorts operates Above the Roar on the ground floor of the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Welcome Center at Niagara Falls State Park in New York. Developed with experiential design and media production company MDSX, the attraction gives park visitors perspectives of the falls that cannot normally be reached in person.
Guests wear VR headsets while seated in motion-enhanced chairs. Aerial imagery carries them along the Niagara River, over the American, Bridal Veil and Horseshoe Falls and through the gorge. The journey then moves underwater, where seven native fish species appear, before returning to the welcome center. Seating movement and sound accompany the imagery; local launch reporting also describes wind effects.
The attraction was unveiled at a June 18, 2026 ribbon cutting. WKBW reported public opening on June 19. The operator lists daily, year-round timed admission; its service page, updated September 3, lists September operating hours and an $18 ticket. Guests must be at least seven years old, with parental consent required for ages seven to ten.
Delaware North developed and operates the attraction through its relationship with New York State Parks. The nearby Voices of the Falls exhibition is a separate experience. No attendance totals or measured commercial outcomes were found.
