FIBA has granted L1VE exclusive immersive live rights to its 3x3 basketball competitions under a three-year agreement covering the FIBA 3x3 World Tour, the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series and the FIBA 3x3 World Cup. The federation treats immersive live rights as a media category of its own, sitting alongside its existing broadcast and streaming deals rather than replacing them, and aimed at fans who cannot get into the venue.
L1VE's system captures the whole venue in stereoscopic 360° 3D, fuses the feeds into a single live scene through a real-time pipeline, and uses a custom delivery layer to hold every viewer worldwide at the same moment in the game. Fans download the L1VE app on a compatible headset — Meta Quest and Apple Vision Pro at launch — and watch from a courtside vantage point, hearing the arena around them and reacting to plays alongside friends they have invited from anywhere in the world. Access is ticketed the way a physical seat is: a pass for a single day of competition, or one covering the full tournament.
The first FIBA event on the platform was the FIBA 3x3 World Tour stop in Debrecen, Hungary on 29 and 30 August 2026. Over the three-year term the platform is to be rolled out across FIBA's flagship 3x3 basketball events worldwide.
L1VE was founded in 2022, is headquartered in New York with research and development in Germany, and owns the glass-to-glass technology stack and direct-to-fan platform the experience runs on.
