Fundación YPF runs Vocaciones 3D, a programme that brings secondary-school students into energy-industry workplaces through virtual reality. Wearing VR headsets, students explore working environments and discover which careers they can study to develop in each professional field, through challenges and interactive activities.
One stop on the programme is the Jornada de Vocaciones, which Fundación YPF is holding with the Facultad de Ingeniería of the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (UNCuyo) in Mendoza, Argentina. It is aimed at students in the final years of secondary school and is scheduled for Friday 9 October 2026, from 9 to 16 h, on the faculty's grounds. Places are limited, and the participating schools are selected by agreement between Fundación YPF and the faculty.
Vocaciones 3D capsules
The VR experience is interactive and includes four capsules, each set in a different workplace:
- a well in Vaca Muerta
- an oil refinery
- a wind turbine
- a real-time monitoring centre
Each capsule lasts roughly four to five minutes and poses educational challenges and trivia tied to the careers associated with that setting.
Escape room
The Mendoza day also features a Fundación YPF escape room, an interactive educational activity for secondary students. Participants solve challenges about the energy matrix, assemble an electric generator and explore gas fields using virtual-reality tools.
