The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Public Security Department has moved its memorial exhibition for national first-class police heroes online as a digital twin. The hall, titled "Seeking Heroes' Footsteps, Forging the Road of Loyalty", went live on 23 October 2026. It was planned, designed and produced jointly with the People's Daily Online Inner Mongolia channel, according to that channel's report.
The offline exhibition opened on 3 December 2024 and presents selected archive material on 7 of the region's national first-class police heroes, drawing on more than 140 documents, photographs, audio-visual items and physical objects. The digital twin takes that display to the cloud, using 3D modelling to recreate the archive material.
How the online hall works
The hall is organised in four sections: a preface hall, a hero zone, an object display area and a closing hall. Visitors tour it on a computer, phone or tablet, and can go through it at any time in a panoramic 3D space that the report describes as naked-eye 3D.
Hotspots in the space can be clicked to zoom in on, rotate and read 3D models of archive objects such as medals and certificates. The aim is to let visitors look closely at the objects and take in the spirit of the police heroes remotely.
Context
The report notes that the offline exhibition had received 184 organisations and 4,000 visits since opening, and describes it as a venue for political and ideological education. That figure refers to the physical exhibition, not to use of the digital twin.
