The Kaohsiung Film Archive has curated "穿越幻境", a special exhibition of four Taiwanese original VR works at the Fuzhong 15 venue in New Taipei. The exhibition is hosted by the New Taipei City Government, its Cultural Affairs Department and Fuzhong 15, with the Kaohsiung Film Archive as co-organiser and content curator. It is framed around Taiwanese VR entering its first ten years, and its themes span folk belief, historical adventure and performing arts.
The works
- Yuanshen Palace (全能元神宮改造王): a VR360 comedy that treats the headset as a ritual instrument for entering another world
- Female Pirate pair (女海盜): the first combines live action with animation, and the second uses immersive imaging technology to place viewers in the survival crises of the 19th-century pirate leader Zheng Yi Sao
- Silence (寂靜): Riverbed Theatre extends its stage work into VR360 space
Visitors watch the works through VR headsets, seated in themed rooms dressed with props such as costumes, rope netting, paper lanterns and hanging signs.
