Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi is using augmented reality to help visitors explore natural history through mobile experiences and Snap’s Spectacles smart glasses. Its collaboration with Snap is designed to make museum exploration more active, spark curiosity and deepen visitors’ understanding of the past.

The Spectacles experience brings a Brachiosaurus into the visitor’s surroundings, transforming it from a skeleton into a lifelike dinosaur. Snap describes the transformation as unfolding where the visitor stands, while curated demonstrations and tours feature the life-size encounter.

Quotes

“This marks a new milestone in how technology can deepen our connection to the past and ignite curiosity for generations to come, enabling visitors not just to see history, but to step directly into it.”

“By merging world-class science with cutting-edge AR, we’re enabling visitors to understand the universe and planet’s past in deeper, more intuitive ways.”
