Pilatus Aircraft has fitted two immersive visual display systems to its new PC-7 MKX Flight Training Devices in Stans, Switzerland. The systems were designed and integrated by project: syntropy, and the projectors have been deployed in both devices for professional flight training.

How the systems work

Each system combines a 4 m fibreglass SYNJETSIM dome with a five-channel 4K projection system, giving a 220° horizontal field of view and a vertical field of view from -42.5° to +90°, according to Norxe's account. The sources report ten Norxe P60 4K n-shift projectors in total across the two domes, five per dome. The projectors are equipped with Aechelon image-generation technology, and the solution includes automatic calibration and optical blend masks to create a continuous image across the dome.

Partners

  • project: syntropy: systems integrator that designed and integrated the complete visual display solution.
  • Norxe: supplier of the P60 projectors.
  • Aechelon: provider of the image-generation technology.

The deployment was reported in October 2026 by the projector supplier and by trade and Swiss technology media.

Quotes

“Simulation environments like this place huge demands on the visual system, where image quality, speed and consistency across every channel are critical. With features such as CLO for stable brightness and colour performance over time, high resolution, low latency, the P60 is an ideal solution for demanding flight simulation applications. It is fantastic to see the technology being used as part of these new PC-7 MKX training systems.”

“Pilatus Team is a highly technically skilled group, we are proud that Pilatus have chosen to rely on us for the visual system in their training device for PC-7 MKX.”
