Queen Mary University of London's Institute of Dentistry developed a VR mock structured clinical reasoning exam to help dental students practise time management and explaining clinical decisions. Dr Dominic Hurst led the project, with content from Dr Cassandra Lewis and Dr Mark Payne; Meher Khan filmed, edited and built the learning material with the university's e-learning team.
The official video transcript confirms that students attended timetabled headset sessions. The VR pathway uses 360° video and interactive adult and paediatric case folders: students can open folders and enlarge images while recorded examiners ask questions. The examiners do not respond dynamically to students' answers. A separate 2D learning pathway also exists.
Organisers reported positive student feedback, but the reviewed sources do not establish measured improvements in exam performance, a participant count or a calendar deployment start date. The transcript describes ambitions to expand scenario complexity; it does not confirm that expansion occurred.
