A new mural combining street art and augmented reality has been installed at 143 Watton Street in Werribee, made possible by Wyndham City Council. Created by British artist INSA, the artwork transforms the building's facade into a digital fortune-telling experience, and visitors interact with it through their smartphones as a digital "wall of fortune".
How the experience works
A sign on the wall invites visitors to scan a QR code, and the app prompts them to point the camera at the painted lotus window. Rather than giving specific predictions, the experience presents a selection of symbols that visitors interpret for themselves.
Project background
INSA described the work as an exploration of futurism in a public art installation in the heart of Werribee, using augmented reality to twist the idea of futurism toward something more whimsical: predicting the future. His post of 27 October 2026 invited people to visit the site and explore the AR experience. The AR component is credited to Andrew Robison.
