The Xiluo Qikan Martial Arts Cultural and Educational Foundation added an AR and VR "Qikan Digital New Martial Arts" experience to its 2026 Xiluo Qikan Martial Arts Carnival in Xiluo, Yunlin, Taiwan. ETtoday reported that visitors could use the digital experience to get to know martial arts moves and routines, and described it as a first for the event. A venue post about the 2025 carnival, however, also mentions a Digital New Martial Arts AR/VR experience at that edition, so it is unclear whether the 2026 offering was new.
The foundation, chaired by Ding Zhenyuan, has promoted Qikan martial arts culture for more than 20 years. The carnival's opening ceremony was held on 26 September at the Senhuo Wushu Park, under the theme "Wu Dong Xiluo, Jing Xian Qikan".
The digital experience zone
Oursteam International, which said in a 15 September 2026 post that it would bring visitors into the zone, described it as combining AR and AI. Two features are described:
- An AR scene called "Diaochan Looking in the Mirror", where visitors meet Qikan stories through interactive technology.
- An AI station that photographs a visitor's martial arts pose, generates a cartoon-style martial arts character from it, shows it on a large screen and lets the visitor pose for a photo with it.
The venue's programme lists a VR and digital interactive experience alongside martial arts challenge stations on 27 September.
Timing
According to the foundation's chair, the carnival began on 19 September, with further activities on 26 to 28 September. The vendor post lists the carnival dates as 19, 26, 27 and 28 September, but none of the captured sources says on which days the AR/VR zone itself was open, or how many people used it.
