Caldwell University in Caldwell, New Jersey, is introducing cinematic virtual reality to its academic curriculum through a partnership with Dreamscape Learn, the immersive education platform already operating at Arizona State University. The VR system is housed on the second floor of Jennings Library and draws on evidence-based pedagogy combined with narrative-driven scenarios to support science and biology instruction.
Dreamscape Learn's effectiveness has been documented at ASU, where students using its biology lab were nearly twice as likely to earn an A grade compared to those in traditional lab settings. Since its 2022 launch at ASU, the platform has served more than 25,000 students. Caldwell University is positioned 22 miles from New York City with a 70-acre campus and 14 NCAA Division II athletics programmes.
University President Dr. Jeffrey D. Senese framed the adoption as consistent with Caldwell's identity as a teaching and learning institution, emphasising immersive technology's role in achieving deeper engagement. Dreamscape Learn CEO Josh Reibel highlighted the power of story-driven experiences to connect knowledge with imagination and make ideas unforgettable.
