South Korean furniture and interior retailer Hyundai Livart, part of the Hyundai Department Store Group, launched what it describes as the domestic furniture industry's first XR design studio service, using Samsung Galaxy XR headsets to deliver virtual home interior consultations to customers. The service debuted across two flagship locations: Livart Total Gangnam in Nonhyeon-dong and Livart Total at Hyundai Seoul in Yeouido-dong.
Customers use the Galaxy XR headset to explore a curated database of three-dimensional bird's-eye-view apartment layouts, visualising how Hyundai Livart furniture and interior selections would appear in their specific home configuration. The virtual consultation is intended to overcome the limitations of traditional showroom visits, where space constraints prevent full-scale room setups from being displayed. The XR studio effectively adds the equivalent of approximately 500 square metres of additional showroom space through six virtual model house environments.
Hyundai Livart plans to expand the service to ten locations across South Korea by the end of 2026. The company positioned the launch as a significant step in addressing the inconvenience customers face when trying to visualise furniture placement before purchase, making Hyundai Livart an early adopter of immersive retail technology in South Korea's home furnishings sector.
